Georgian Recordings is a unique recording label based in Stamford Bridge near the ancient city of York. Founded in 1974 by Peter Harrison the label began producing vinyl discs before moving to cassettes and finally CDs. Georgian Recordings is dedicated to producing recordings of eighteenth and early nineteenth century music performed on period instruments in historically-informed style. We actively seek out the work of unjustly neglected English composers, rediscovering their music to be enjoyed again in the 21st century.
The label is associated with the early music quartet Concert Royal and members of the ensemble can be heard on all of our recordings.
Margarette Ashton; soprano, Peter Harrison, flute
Rachel Gray; violoncello, John Treherne, harpsichord
